On February 3, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, and Executive Director of AUN-HPN, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyapong Janmaimool, Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations and Deputy Executive Director of AUN-HPN, and the AUN-HPN Secretariat team, participated in the Public Communication Forum: “The Role of Buddhist Universities in Becoming ASEAN Health Promoting Universities.”
In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj delivered a keynote lecture during the panel discussion on “The Role of Buddhist Universities in ASEAN Health Promotion.” She was joined by Dr. Narongsak Ungkhasuwapala, M.D., Chair, National Sangha Health Charter for Buddhist Monks Committee and Vice Chairman of the Plan Administrative Committee, Area 4, Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth); Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suraphon Suyaphrom, Vice-Rector for General Affairs, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU); and Mr. Phongsak Thongrattana, Director, Office of Happy 8 Workplace, Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth).
The Public Communication Forum aimed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and the development of mechanisms and systems for health management in alignment with the ASEAN Health-Promoting University framework at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. It also sought to support the university’s strategic health promotion initiatives and to promote and declare a commitment to advancing ASEAN Health-Promoting Universities within the institution.
This event was organized by the Buddhist Way of Health Promotion Organizational Development Project under the Graduate School of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, with support from the Office of Happy 8 Workplace, Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth). It was held at the Intelligent Mindfulness (I-Mind) Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Phra Brahmapundit Building, International Buddhist Studies College (IBSC), Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Ayutthaya, Thailand.
